Welcome to My ESL Classroom

Greetings!  My name is Maria Hall and I am an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher.  This is my 19th year teaching at Woodrow Wilson Elementary.

Ashland University - BS.Ed - Elementary Education
Educational Philosophy/Vision:
All students can learn.  Learning happens when students are engaged and involved in hands-on actvities that can be related to their lives. 

In January, we will be studying...
Kindergarten - Letter ID and Beginning Sounds, Shapes, Sight Words
First Grade - Happy New Year, Winter - reading, writing, vocabulary
Second Grade - Happy New Year - reading, writing, vocabulary
Third Grade - Reading, Writing, and Vocabulary - assorted topics
Fourth and Fifth Grades - Reading and Writing - assorted topics with focus on comprehension and grammar 
All students in First through Fifth Grades will practice and prepare for the upcoming ACCESS test.  

In February, all students in the ESL program will be assessed on the ACCESS test.  This test will assess each student's level of English proficiency in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

Woodrow Wilson Elementary is collecting Box Tops for Education.
