Behavior Policies and Agreements

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
  • Reading: We are currently learning about Point of View, and how our Point of View can be different from or the same as the author or narrator. We will soon begin learning Main Idea and integrating Science (Earth, Moon, and Sun). We will be reading books by my favorite author, Patricia Polacco. And ending the quarter with Poetry.
  • Writing: Since we are learning about Point of View, Opinion writing goes along with it. We will be writing about our Opinions.
  • Math: We have been studying Geometry and the attributes of polygons. Also finding the perimeter of polygons. We will soon be working with time and finding elapsed time and then... MULTIPLICATION!!!

  • Science: We will integrate science with our ELA block and learn about the Earth/Moon/and Sun.
  • Social Studies: We will be studying different cultures around the world.

What you can do at home:

  • Encourage your child to read for at least 20 minutes each night.
  • Have your child complete their nightly homework which should be turned in by Friday.
  • Ask your child about CUBES and how it can help with answering math word problems.
  • Encourage your child to use MobyMax or Dreambox at home on a tablet or computer. This is a fun way for them to continue their learning at home!
