Welcome to My Pre-Kindergarten Classroom

My name is Mrs. Teague.  I have been at Woodrow Wilson since 2000 and started teaching pr-k in 2003.  I have been married to Timmy Teague for 31 years and have one son. I am excited to have your child in class this year. It is going to be a great year.

College(s) Attended/Degrees Earned:
Mrs. Teague has a B.A. in Child and Family Development and Masters of Arts in Teaching K-6 with a B-K add on license from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Educational Philosophy/Vision:
It is our desire to provide a nurturing and caring classroom community where children will begin to take charge of their own learning to prepare them for the next level.  We both pledge to recognize each child as a gift, and do all we can to unleash the ribbons of learning in your child.  Thank you for sharing your children with us.


Pre-K Info:

Your child will need a book bag (no wheels please), a complete change of clothes (shirt, pants, socks and underwear), small blanket or towel (no bigger than a beach towel) for nap time.

What we are learning:

Our pre-k uses the creative curriculum to teach social-emotional, cognitive, physical, language and math skills.  We also use the letterland curriculum to teach phonics and letter recognition


Social/Emotional Skills: how to be a friend, share, take turns, and follow directions
Physical skills: Fine Motor: how to use a pencil and scissors
Gross Motor: how to use the playground safely

Cognitive Skills: how to recognize our name,
Letters A and C (using letterland)

Language:learn the sounds for letters A and C
