Ms. Anthony

Welcome to our page!

My name is Angela Anthony and I have been teaching at Woodrow Wilson for 16 years. This  year I will be teaching Third Grade. Before coming to Kannapolis City Schools, I taught for Ten years in Cabarrus County.

I attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where I earned my B.A. in Elementary Education.
My educational philosophy is that "Each child has the potential to bring something special to the World."

What are we doing in class for the Third Quarter:

We will start the quarter learning about text structures (cause/effect, problem/solution) and then move on to finishing summarizing and author's purpose. Then we will work on learning about themes in poetry and learning the elements in dramas.  We will finish the quarter learning about Greek Mythology and the meaning/origin of words.

We will begin the quarter writing a biographies.  We will then continue the quarter writing research reports.

This quarter is all FRACTIONS AND DECIMALS.  We will begin the quarter learning about equivalent fractions.  Then move on to add/subtracting fractions and then multiplying/dividing fractions.  We will finish the quarter learning how fractions can convert in to decimals.

We will be focusing on nutrition, health and fitness.

This quarter, we will focus on NC history and culture.  We will learn about famous landmarks and people in North Carolina.
